One of our clients - a convenience store food supplier - is currently looking for a Maintenance Manager. This position is direct hire, exempt, and salaried $70-85K per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Operation, care, and maintenance of all steam, electrical, refrigeration and mechanical equipment, including the use of stainless-steel welding, gas, and variety of food process equipment.
  • Maintain and repair all production equipment: Food Process Equipment, kettles, evaporators, dryers, valves, conveyors, MCC controllers.
  • Maintain and repair all support equipment: boilers, air compressors, refrigeration equipment, compressors, thermal freezer, cooler storage areas, condensers, vacuum pumps, wastewater systems, conductivity meters, water meters, etc.
  • Assist with variety of preventative maintenance on machine parts, pumps, motors, pneumatic, hydraulic systems and related plant and facility equipment.
  • Be an active part of the emergency response team as prescribed by the company Safety Program.
  • Oversee the fabrication and manufacturing of equipment for production needs, product and process piping, sanitary equipment, steam lines, chemical lines, pneumatic lines, etc.
  • Coordinates operations, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment. Evaluate production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Assist with startup and operate production machinery and equipment. Must understand all production machine functions.
  • Plans and directs maintenance personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment and development of methods, and procedures for testing equipment or systems.
  • Directs and coordinates assembly, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure equipment and systems conform to production specifications and standards.
  • Documentation of all schematic and diagram changes to keep plant records current
  • Responsible for supervising maintenance team members, reviewing daily work orders and activity reports, overseeing that all work being done in a timely fashion and done properly.
  • Assist in preparing capital project bids
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance program.
  • Oversee plant projects, account for expenditures for each project.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are using LOTO lockout / Tag out procedures. Using the proper PPE
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of company tools.
  • Purchase Order control. With the approval of management.

 

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High school diploma and 3-5 years of relevant training/experience.
  • Able to assist and train maintenance personnel on how to rebuild cylinders, valves, pumps and at times fabricate parts for emergency breakdown
  • Hands on experience in Mechanical / Electrical, logic ladder skills. Must be able to read wire diagrams, schematic, refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Initiative-taking, confident, energetic and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Technically oriented, comfortable around food process machinery and plant environment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines

Physical:

  • Daily exposure to unusual elements such as food grade grease, oils and/or noise.
  • Seasonal exposure to weather elements includes, but is not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity
  • Working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards
  • Carrying packages up to 75 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; reaching and kneeling
  • Flexible to work scheduled shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
