One of our clients - global Manufacturing company is currently looking for a Product Engineer. This position pays up to $64K per year based on skills and experience.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day carrying out of product engineer operations by:

• facilitating and documenting prototype fabrication
• scheduling plant support for prototype component part preparation and molding rubber and rubber-to-metal bonded parts
• assisting Technical Team with cost reduction for North American plant products during non-prototype fabrication time

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Work with Project Manager or other Project Engineers for prototype schedule requirements including ordered materials and components timing, mold build timing, fixture timing and customer due date
• Work with Product Engineer to understand drawings, models, BOM, control plan, curing trial instructions and assembly instructions
• Facilitate component part preparation and mold machine availability with plant Production Engineering Manager
• Issue metal preparation, molding and assembly instructions; track labor time and document any downtime (troubleshooting, breaks, …etc.) or concerns
• Organize and maintain storage of prototype component metal and resin parts, un-volcanized rubber, molds and dies, and finished goods parts
• Responsible for improving quality and efficiency of the prototype manufacturing process
• Make weekly status reports of progress
• Re required to do business travel for prototype suppliers and customers
• Support cost reduction activities for our North American manufacturing plants
• Work with Production Engineers, Quality Engineers, Supervisors, Team leaders and Associates to diagnose manufacturing problems and reduce process and product waste
• Make test requests to Test Engineering Manager for changes requiring product validation
• Make weekly status reports of progress
• Business travel to North American manufacturing facilities will be periodically required
• Periodic support for other duties will be necessary for urgent items that require additional support

Summary of Qualifications:

• BSME or similar engineering degree
• 2-4 years manufacturing experience
• Self-motivated with a desire to achieve success with minimal guidance
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Good organizational skills
• Good understanding of product and mold drawings and models
• Understanding of manufacturing processes beneficial
• MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word) skills
