SUMMARY: Sells a variety of company products, such as screw machines and related items to the company’s business services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES, not all inclusive:

  • Compiles list of prospective customers for use as leads, from many different sources; i.e. internet, linked-in, business directories, networking, etc.
  • Travels through assigned territory to call on established and prospective customers to solicit orders or communicate with customers on their sales floor or via phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates products using samples and/or catalogs to emphasize sellable features.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Obtains credit information on prospective customers and forwards findings to home office.
  • Provides pertinent information to customers upon securing orders; such as, estimated/actual date of delivery, confirmation of number of parts ordered, contact person’s information (if other than self), etc.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
  • Collaborates with Customer Support Representatives to ensure customer accounts are managed proficiently.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products, if necessary.
  • Participate in meetings, as dictated by job title. Represent the company in civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community, the state, and at the national/providential level.
  • Effectively complete all other task as assigned by immediate supervisor, Branch Manager and/or Vice-president.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties as deemed satisfactory by the company’s management.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Individual must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years working experience in a Sales, Marketing, Customer Service capacity OR an Associate’s Degree and 4+ years working experience as such. Must have good verbal and written communication (ability to speak and write fluent English, Japanese (several clients/customers speak the Japanese language and the ability to communicate with this customer-base is a plus) and/or Spanish) skills.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS/LANGUAGE:

Must possess (demonstrate) good critical-thinking, judgment and decision-making skills.  Must be customer centric. Must be able to effectively multi-task. Individual must possess good problem-solving skills. Must display proficient skills using Microsoft applications. Must be able to work in a team-setting or independent of others. Must have a valid driver license, travel 60+% of hours worked, and be able to pass all pre-employment testing requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit, stand and view computer screen for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift a minimum 30 pounds. Must be able to work in an environment which uses liquids and solutions needed in the Company’s scope of business (includes using proper PPE).  Reasonable accommodations may be made as necessary.
