One of our clients, a global technical company, is currently looking for a Lab / Test Technician for 2nd shift lab operation. This position is direct hire, exempt, and salaried $51-60K per year based on experience. The work hours for this position is 11AM to 8PM, 2nd shift.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluation of Anti-vibration parts (engine mounts, bushing etc.) testing daily, including read and understand test request, setting up and operating testing equipment as well as collect, analyze and report test data to test engineer/lab supervisor
• Perform and analyze Elastomeric material properties of Anti-Vibration products (Rubber, hose) & Urethane products
• Perform and analyze Elastomeric material destructive/adhesive separation/Permanent set testing of Anti-Vibration products
• Perform and analyze Elastomeric Material Property static & dynamic characterization/Fatigue Durability testing of Anti-Vibration products using MTS servo-hydraulic and other testing equipment
• Perform Creep & Environmental Testing of Anti-Vibration products
• Perform Vehicle level NVH testing using 4WD Chassis Dyno and 4-Post Shaker (Instrument vehicle using vibration & acoustic sensors, data acquisition)
• Troubleshooting and resolving of test lab related issues
• Follow and maintain 5S program daily. Implement Safety & 5S guidelines to meet standards of zero safety hazards
• Perform lab equipment / lab floor maintenance activities to ensure safe/reliable laboratory operations
• Must be able to regularly perform multi-tasking to increase productivity and to finish task quickly
• Report directly to test engineer/lab supervisor

Qualifications:

• Minimum high school graduation or GED in automotive or mechanical field, or Associate degree in a technical field is a plus
• Experience is preferred with MTS Servo-hydraulic test equipment, familiar with MTS testing system/software. Experience with Elastomer parts testing is a plus
• Ability to operate common machine tools and measuring equipment such as caliper and height gage
• Ability to perform small machine fabrication using drill, grinder, saw or other tools as required to modify fixture or part
• Familiarity of 4WD Chassis Dyno and 4-Post Shaker is plus for NVH testing
• Familiarity with data acquisition and typical instrumentation (accelerometers, load cells, microphones) is plus
• Must be able to perform lab equipment / lab floor maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable laboratory operations
• Must possess basic mechanical knowledge with Knowledge and understanding of automotive systems
• Must show interest in learning new skills and a positive work attitude.
• Complete all Safety Training Programs
• Must understand and follow ALL Preventive Maintenance Programs and the Test Request Order System
• Must have excellent verbal communications skills and a demonstrated dedication to quality and accuracy
• Familiar with MS Excel (to analyze and interpret test data), PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Must be able to work in 2^st Shift only
