Position Summary

The position is responsible for procurement of parts and products by negotiating delivery terms and dates with external suppliers, managing inventory and overseeing logistics.

Job Responsibilities

· Devise/utilize fruitful procurement, sourcing strategies

· Discover and initiate business relationships with profitable suppliers

· Negotiate with external vendors to secure favorable terms, tracking expenses while improving effectiveness

· Finalize purchasing details of orders and deliveries

· Examine and inspect delivered items

· Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse and transportation services

· Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers

· Keep good track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.

· Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements

· Occasionally Attend tele-conferences with Japan, out of normal work hours

· Domestic travel as needed dependent on vendor/supplier/factory locations

Job Requirements and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree highly desired

· 3-5 years of previous experience in procurement or purchasing required

· Experience in transportation equipment or transit authority industry, costs and terms

· Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets

· Native speaker of English language or equivalent.

· Experience and high-level knowledge of business in general accounting, trading, and logistics preferred.

· Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

· Working experience in a Japanese company a plus.
