SUMMARY: An Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating existing and new customer sales, and for increasing account penetration and market share. Client interactions may include program presentation, client follow-up, and end user sales support. This position has no negotiation and decision-making authority.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES, not all inclusive:
• Under direct supervision of the Branch Manager and/or Assistant Sales Manager, facilitate as
an extension of the outside sales force (OEM Sales Representatives) to proactively grow client base.
• Create and deliver qualified opportunities to the OEM Sales Representatives by compiling lists
of prospective customers, for the use of sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, internet, networking, and other sources.
• Cold-call prospects that are generated by external sources of lead.
• Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process.
• Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
• Collaborate with Customer Support staff, as necessary. This collaboration includes monitoring transactions through completion; including collections, and assist in resolving any
discrepancies or making any changes during the course of the transaction.
• Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects and overcome objections of
prospective customers.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge. Consult with the Quality and Production departments, when necessary to assist the existing and/or prospective customer’s needs.
• Assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients.
• Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail.
• Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales.
• Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
• Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.
• Conduct presentations at customer-site to grow sales in areas of opportunity, as necessary
(on a solo basis and in conjunction with the OEM Sales Representative).
• As directed by the Branch Manager, attend sales training, demonstrations, shows, conventions, and meetings which pertain to sales departments.
• Other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
Qualifications/Skills: *University or college degree or an acceptable combination of education and experience. *Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas. *Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management. *Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers
