Position Summary
A leading Japanese trading company specializing in electronic components and materials is seeking a Japanese–English bilingual Sales Representative to join its U.S. subsidiary. This role is responsible for managing and expanding business with automotive customers across North America. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automotive or electronics sales/ purchasing, along with deep supply chain knowledge and the ability to bridge communication between Japanese/Asian suppliers and North American customers. Key Responsibilities

Manage and expand relationships with existing Tier 1/Tier 2/tier 3 automotive customers.

Promote and support development and qualification of automotive electronic components and materials.

Liaison between Japan/Asia suppliers and North American clients to ensure smooth communication and execution.

Coordinate with internal teams on Importation, Exportation and inventory Management.

Monitor market trends and customer needs to identify new business targets and opportunities

Support pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and account management activities.

Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams, including counterparts in Japan and Asia.

Participate in in-person meetings and business travel throughout the North America and Asia as needed.
Working Hours & Style

Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
Evening Conference Calls 2~3 nights/week with Japan/Asia as needed -
Hybrid/Flex work arrangement possible based on performance and organizational needs.

Reports to Sales Manager and other members of management team.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 annually (commensurate with experience; Assistant Manager level)

Qualifications
-
7–10 years of experience in sales or purchasing within the automotive or electronics industry

A reliable and self-starting individual who is goal orientated with strong work ethic eventually to join the management group of the organization.

Experience working with Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 2 Automotive suppliers strongly preferred

Trading company experience is preferred but not necessary

Strong understanding of automotive industry, along with global supply chain systems.

Reading, Writing, and Speaking at the native Japanese level is a must

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience will be considered.

Excellent communication, coordination, and relationship-building skills with suppliers and clientele.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
