About the Role:
An international equipment and technology distributor is seeking a Manufacturing Service Engineer to support service operations in Novi, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone with a background in industrial engineering or industrial technology, who is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working with technical drawings and precision equipment.
You will work closely with global suppliers and internal service teams to troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment for manufacturing customers throughout North America.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Design (65%)

Learn the operation and technical details of supplier equipment

Read, interpret, and design mechanical and electrical schematics

Troubleshoot, repair, and reconfigure equipment as needed

Prepare quotes, manage repair orders, and coordinate shipping

Support and train junior service team members
On-Site Support (25%)

Visit customer sites to conduct repairs and installations

Communicate with suppliers and contractors to resolve issues

Participate in technical meetings and site planning

Lead service activities at client sites and ensure timely completion
General Support (10%)

Report project status to management

Participate in performance reviews and training sessions

Maintain tools and adhere to company safety standards

Assist with internal improvement projects and documentation
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Up to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, service engineering, or machine design
Required Skills

Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting knowledge

Ability to read and create circuit diagrams and schematics

Familiarity with basic repair tools and techniques

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in both English and Japanese (preferred)

Valid driver’s license
