One of our clients, Plastic Automotive Part Manufacturing Plant, is looking for a Paint Manager. This position is Direct Hire and pays $65-85K. Relocation package available.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Directs all fixture designs, paint jigs, robotic paint programs (including some very complex in nature) for use in the manufacture of company products.
- Directs all re-design, repair, or replace in-process production program equipment, jigs, programs, production control hardware, and tooling.
- Develop paint processes, methods, robot programs, jigs, fool proofing, and production controls for new programs; supervise their assembly and proofing.
- Set up new paint equipment and peripheral equipment, ensure its satisfactory operation, and instruct others to use the new equipment properly.
- Write procedures and/or instructions for the operation of new or existing equipment.
- Stays informed concerning new painting technology and equipment, and investigates their potential applications. Recommend incorporation of new paint technology for company applications where feasible and practical.
- Directs all color approvals with Quality Control at the customer.
- Uses Kaizen to improve cycle time and material inventory/flow.
- Directs paint suppliers on movement of colors to the CSP plaque.
Summary of Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience/coursework focus.
- 3+ years’ experience as a Paint Supervisor/Coordinator/Group Leader with jig and/or paint equipment maintenance.
- 3+ years’ experience as Paint Manager or in-house equivalent.
- Knowledgeable concerning painting principles, application process, the properties of paints/thinners, and the application of mathematics and programming of robots.
- Knowledgeable concerning modern masking techniques and paint-shop practices and techniques.
- Strong fluid skills.
- Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of paint equipment or process problems, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation, and be attentive to detail.
- Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with innovations allowing an economical solution to production problems in a timely manner.
- Has initiative and ability to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines.
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, including ABB software.
- Familiar with computer-controlled robots and has some exposure to high-volume automated production equipment.
